Meet our vicar
Ss Philip & James Church welcomed the Revd Kate O'Sullivan as our new vicar in February 2025.
All About Me
My name is Revd Kate O'Sullivan and I am delighted to be the Vicar of Ss Philip and James, Whitton.
I am originally from Portsmouth, but seem to have spent the last 30 years exploring Wiltshire twice, Durham, Manchester and South Wales before alighting here in the Diocese of London, my favourite city in the world!
I was ordained in the Manchester Diocese in 2017 and my previous career included working with homeless families with the Salvation Army, counselling both men and women in the prison service, managing a centre for homeless people and managing the delivering of health and wellbeing service in the North West.
I am the mother of three wonderful daughters - and scary mother-in-law to two son-in-laws!
I love travelling, reading, cooking, singing, going to concerts and the theatre. I am a life-professed Tertiary Franciscan and a member of the Society of Catholic Priests.
I believe that our church should be a place of sanctuary, where ALL are welcome and included, where each newcomer changes us and is celebrated for who they are. My passion is to help people to connect with God is a way that is life changing and to journey with people in learning to be Christlike in all that we.
Mother Kate
